St Michael's Mount

Description

St Michael’s Mount is a tidal island joined to the mainland by a cobbled causeway. the island is a popular tourist destination, attracted by its natural beauty, subtropical gardens and iconic castle.

Access to the island is ruled by the tides. This means getting across and back is an experience in itself. At high tide access is via the historic harbour on a small ferryboat. Åt low tide, it is possible to walk across the ancient causeway, the sea lapping at its edges.
